OurSessions

Good Morning!
09:00 – 09:30
The children are greeted in the hall by their key worker. They have a named peg for their coats and bags. With a little help they self-register by finding their name label and putting it on the board. The children are able to choose from a wide range of activities available to play with.

Circle time and introductions
09.30 – 09:35
This is a time for the children to join in with circle time and introduce themselves, hear about what they can be doing during their day with a reminder of the pre-school golden rules.

Key work
09:35 – 9.45
The children will be encouraged to sit in their key groups and do some fun activities with their keyworker.

Time to play
09:45 – 11.45
When they have finished Key work, the children then have a wide range of activities available to play with. During this time there are also opportunities for them to take part in large and small group activities, and have one-to-one time with their key worker. There will also be themed adult – led activities available that the children will be encouraged to join in with. From 1pm onwards, the outside area will be available for the children to access, allowing them the choice between inside and outside play.

Rolling Snack
10:15 – 10:45
The children are able to choose when to have their snack during this time and are given the choice of healthy foods with either a drink of water or milk.

Tidy-up time!
11:45 – 11:50
‘Tidy up music’ is played and when the children hear the ‘tidying’ music it’s time to stop and tidy away the toys.

Carpet time
11:50 – 12.00
We all sit together, talk about the weather, celebrate anything the children would like to share and have a story. We then sing some songs to finish the day!

Home time
12.00
Children will wait either in the hall or in a line in the corridor until the member of staff on the door has seen their parent or carer and called their name.

Lunchtime club is from 12pm to 12.30pm. It is optional and there is an additional fee.

The children bring in a healthy pack lunch. Abbots Langley Pre-school will provide guidance on suitable lunch box food if required. The children will all wash their hands and sit at a table and eat together which builds their communication and social skills. A member of staff will also sit with the children.

For children attending the morning session their lunch boxes will be stored in a fridge during their session.
